The British Pantry is in its 40th year at the same location having expanded 5 times since opening in 1978. The business is owned and operated by the Redman family,(Fred, Mavis, Neville, Alvia and her son Graham) with the baking expertise of three generations. Mavis's family, the Richardsons were bakers in England, where she learned her craft working at her fathers side at their bakery in Swinton, near Manchester. Mavis's son Neville and daughter Alvia have both worked in the business since it opened, learning the traditional baking skills required to carry on the family tradition of British baking. Grandson Graham has been a great addition and has taken over the early morning baking.
